Project
Salones Prado
Convention & events complex. Paradisus Cancún.
Salones Prado is part of the convention and events complex at Paradisus Cancún, a luxury all-inclusive resort in Cancún's Hotel Zone operated by Meliá Hotels International. Wood 4 U was selected to execute a comprehensive renovation program focused on modernizing finishes, architectural elements, acoustic performance and guest-facing spaces — while maintaining uninterrupted hotel operations throughout.
“A convention center is judged by the guest experience it delivers on the day. Every surface, every door, every acoustic detail contributes to that standard.”
Scope of Work
Complete Renovation. Five Spaces.
Architectural Millwork
Custom millwork elements designed and installed throughout the convention center and event halls — all fabricated to match the resort's interior language.
Wall Paneling (Lambrines)
Full wall paneling program across all renovated spaces — providing a consistent, refreshed finish surface aligned with the Paradisus interior standard.
Acoustic Wall Systems
Acoustic wall treatment systems engineered, fabricated and installed for convention-grade sound performance across the main hall and adjacent event spaces.
Ceiling Repairs & Restoration
Existing ceiling conditions repaired and restored throughout — hidden defects resolved, surfaces refinished and reinstated to operational standard.
Carpet Replacement
Complete carpet replacement program executed across all event floors — new material specified for hospitality durability and installed to align with the refreshed interior.
Door Fabrication & Refurbishment
Access doors stripped, veneered, fabricated where required, and refinished to specification — each door returned to hotel-standard condition.
Upholstery & Interior Finishes
Upholstered elements replaced and all interior architectural finishes updated throughout — completing the renovation of each space as a unified condition.
The Challenge
An Active Resort. An Accelerated Schedule.
The renovation had to be executed without hotel closure, across multiple simultaneous event spaces, within an aggressive timeline. Hidden conditions discovered during execution required rapid assessment and absorption into the live scope — without disrupting the primary delivery sequence or the operational calendar of an active luxury resort.
“Hidden conditions are a test of preparation. You either have the response built into your system — or you don't.”
Wood 4 U — Execution Principle
Execution Strategy
Phased. Coordinated. Absorbed.
The renovation was structured as a sequenced program across five spaces — allowing adjacent halls to remain operational while each area was being renovated. Trade coordination, rapid response protocols and fabrication management were the operational backbone of the delivery.
Phased Execution
Work sequenced space by space — each hall renovated and handed back before the next was released, maintaining convention availability throughout the program.
Trade Coordination
Multiple disciplines — millwork, acoustic installation, flooring, upholstery, ceiling repair — managed on a single coordinated timeline with no sequential gaps.
Hidden Condition Absorption
Additional scope identified during execution was assessed, priced and absorbed without rescheduling the primary delivery — a result of pre-planned contingency sequencing.
Material Logistics
Specialized materials sourced, procured and staged to maintain delivery cadence — no installation phase delayed by material availability.
Craftsmanship & Technical Solutions
Convention-Grade. Hospitality-Finish.
Door Veneering & Restoration
Every access door in the renovation scope was stripped of existing finish, veneered where required and refinished to specification — producing a consistent, hotel-grade result across all five spaces.
Acoustic System Integration
Acoustic wall panels engineered for convention-grade sound performance, fabricated to fit each specific wall condition and installed with the same precision applied to all visible millwork elements.
Millwork Consistency Across Five Spaces
All millwork elements — paneling, trim, built-in detailing — matched to a single finish standard across the full complex. Consistency under event lighting was verified at every installation stage.
Ceiling Repair Under Acceleration
Ceiling conditions that required remediation were assessed, repaired and refinished without extending the timeline — integrating structural repair and surface finishing into a single operation.
High-Traffic Hospitality Durability
All materials specified for convention-center use — high-frequency event changeovers, heavy traffic, staging loads and the sustained demands of a fully operational luxury resort.

The Work
Results
Convention Standard Restored.
The renovation delivered a refreshed convention and events environment capable of meeting the operational and aesthetic standards expected within a luxury hospitality destination. The project was completed while the resort remained active — overcoming hidden conditions and multi-trade coordination challenges through integrated solutions and accelerated execution. Each of the five spaces was returned to full operational use on schedule.
